NEW WALKING FOOTBALL RULES FOR 2018

Affiliate members have voted on the following proposals, and will see their game shaping now, in readiness for the 2018 Nationals.

1. A ball saved or deflected by the goalkeeper over head height and out of play on pitches with goal lines shall be a corner (currently a retention by the keeper.) YES - 74%

2. A ball saved or deflected by the goalkeeper over head height within the penalty area that crosses the goal line shall stand as a goal (currently a dead ball scenario and no goal.) YES - 83%

3. Shin guards are compulsory in all competitive games - no pads, no play (currently 'not compulsory but advisable' in a non-contact format.) YES - 52%

4. A ball may be 'poached' cleanly and without contact from between the legs of the player in possession of the ball (currently ambiguous as a tackle from behind.) YES - 89%

5. A goalkeeper may distribute the ball from the area whilst grounded (currently an infringement as all players must not play from a grounded position.) YES - 75%
