JOHN SHERIDAN TESTIMONIAL TOURNAMENT

On Sunday Solihull Football Centre hosted the John Sheridan Testimonial Tournament in the blistering heat. Johns family and friends gathered to see where he enjoyed so much of his time on the pitch playing walking football.

Four teams were involved in the games, Birmingham Parkinson’s, Movers and Shakers, Derby Parkinson’s WFC, and a team made up of Johns two daughters and three Grandchildren. The winners of the tournament were the Movers and Shakers from Worcestershire, with Birmingham second on goal difference, and Derby runners up.

The event raised £100 which Johns family wanted donated to the Birmingham Parkinson’s Walking football section in memory of John who loved being at the club.

We have had many thank you messages for hosting the event but our favourite is this,

“Well, what a wonderful afternoon! Just proves you need never feel alone with Parkinson’s Disease. And what a lovely family! You lot are the best!”
