On a very sunny November day Birmingham travelled to Worcester for a friendly walking football match to play Movers & Shakers and a mixed England team.
First game 2x 10min, BWFC v Movers & Shakers. From the first whistle BWFC were dominant and went ahead at just 3 mins in with a goal from Barry. Soon after, good play from Simon set up Chris for goal number 2, HT 2-0. Second half one way traffic led to BWFC hitting the back of net another five times (3 Barry and 2 Simon) to completely out play their opponents.
In the Third period of 20 mins, 10 each way, BWFC were asked to include selected Movers & Shakers players with the BWFC squad so they could see what it was like to play with different players.
In the game v England, BWFC lost two players Simon & Stuart to England which proved to be a loss for them. England dominated from kick off and scored some good goals for first period to finish 4-0. Second period BWFC played well and closed down England when they were in possession, finishing the second period FT 1-1. Third period England dominated play, partly due to the big turnaround of players so game time was shared. England then took control and scored on the counter …FT 3-0 making the final score 8-1.
All the players enjoyed their game time …. Woody (keeper) Pete, Tim, and Martin (defence) Chris and Hassan (midfield) Rod and Steve (wide players) Barry and Ian (up top). Plus, Simon and Stuart who played for both BWFC and England mixed.
Everyone was then invited back to Pete and Michelle’s for Tea, Coffee, and homemade cake, an enjoyable end to enjoyable day.
