WFA NATIONAL CUP +65'S

Birmingham WFC 3 Bedworth 1

On Monday 16th August, Birmingham Over 65’s met Bedworth in a 2nd Round WFA National Cup match at Brick Kiln Lane.

Birmingham started the game well and only a string of very good saves from the Bedworth goalkeeper prevented the Blues from taking the lead. However, a very good goal from the Bedworth left back who had ventured forward unchallenged gave the away side the lead. Bedworth at this point started to control things in midfield, although Birmingham were still a threat on the break. A slight change of tactics at half time saw Birmingham playing a higher line resulting in a complete turnaround in their fortunes. Decka Thorpe did what he does best and scored 2 very well taken goals and set up his strike partner Clive Macey with a superb flick, for Clive to register his first goal for the Over 65’s

Birmingham will now play Hartshill Strollers away in the 3rd Round of the competition.
