Last Sunday BWFC sent a team of over 70’s to Nottingham to play in the first ever over 70’s walking football tournament. Although the team didn’t progress as well as they’d hoped it was an enjoyable experience for all concerned, as well as a learning curve for a possible future tournament in Cirencester in March. This was only the second time the team had played together and big thanks goes out to Bill who didn’t get to play but took up the role of manager. Scores were as follows;

BWFC 1-1 with Sheffield United - Draw

BWFC 0-2 Portsmouth (the eventual winners) – Loss

BWFC 0-0 Eastleigh - Draw

BWFC 0-0 Wales - Won that in a penalty shootout (Goalkeeper Geoffrey Harman saved 3 out of 4 pens)

Players - Geoffrey Harman, Alan Bailey, Dave Adams, Derek Adderley, Jim Murtagh, John Robb, Billy Pears, Roy Atkins, Steve Cash.
